Cool Learning Resources - Beginners, kids, games, VSTS, SharePoint

I was just having a look around the new MSDN site (  I like the search innovations they have made but I also really like the number of learning resource pages we have not the site to get people started.

these are really valuable as we have so many great resources that these pages can really help you get going and make learning more approachable.

I'm personally a big fan of the pages with short videos on them as you can pick them up for 10 minutes and learn something ;)

I think the ASP .NET site does the best set of these this page in particular is indispensable:

It includes:

- “How Do I?” with ASP.NET AJAX

“How Do I?” with ASP.NET

SQL Server 2005 Express for Beginners

Videos for ASP.NET 2.0 Beginners

Videos on Visual Studio Team System

“First Look” Videos

Videos on Visual Studio 2005 Add-ins

Videos on Migrating to ASP.NET

There is even an RSS feed so you know when they will add more Subscribe

On the core site there are also great set of other web casts to get started. - games programming 2D, 3D - beginner developer center - kids corner - Learn ASP .NET

Then finally the developer centers are the one stop shop, we have a whole set of these but one that is worth having a look at is the SharePoint one.

SharePoint is actually an awesome platform for application delivery.  The platform itself provides a lot of inherent value for solutions (document management, lists, authentication, portal framework, content management, ...) and you just use standard .NET (ASP .NET) development techniques to work with it and add in your domain/business specific requirements.

Feel free to add to my list :)  Everyone likes to learn in different ways - for me with limited time I really like the style of the videos on the ASP .NET site.
