Alright already

The fact that I failed to begin my blog without first clearly identifying myself seems to be fueling the conspiracy theorists in the Flight Sim community so I thought I'd take just a minute to fill in the blanks. I didn't think who I was or what title I held was really relevant to what I had to say. Well, I guess now you can be the judge. Whatever...

Name: Mike Gilbert

Title: Lead Program Manager

Reponsibility: Ensuring success of the project, primarily from a production standpoint (i.e., making sure we ship excellent bits on time)

Tenure: 8 years at Microsoft; 4 on FS team

Experience: Former Access/VB/VBA developer, consultant and author; private pilot (~250hrs, 248.8 in taildraggers <g>); managed scenery production process in FS8 and FS9 before assuming lead PM role

Hobbies: Husband, dad, cooking, golf, transformation

So, you see I don't really do anything myself, other than make sure everybody else has what they need to go be excellent. On the up side it does give me chance to see how they do things and comment on it here. Happy now?
