Manage Users’ Activations of Office Applications in Office 365

A very common ask we receive from partners is “How can we manage the Office applications that users install from an Office 365 subscription?” This has been a challenge but a new management capability was just released that helps with this scenario!
It is now possible to access a listing of the workstations that a user has installed Office applications (Office 365 ProPlus, Office 365 Business, Office 365 Project and Office 365 Visio for example.) From there the administrator can Deactivate a subscription directly.
To do so, log on to the Office 365 Admin console and select a user as shown:
This will produce the following dialog where the deactivation can be achieved:
As noted on dialog above, Deactivating a device doesn't remove the app from the device. If this person wants to keep using the app on a device you have deactivated, they can reactivate it the next time they open the app.
