Office 365 to have built in External Message Encryption!

You may have already seen the recent announcement back on November 21st introducing the upcoming release of Office 365 Message Encryption, which is replacing Exchange Hosted Encryption (EHE).  Why should our hard working Office 365 partners care about this?  If you’ve sold an EHE deal in the past, then you are probably doing back flips and group hugs over this announcement!

EHE has to be provisioned through Open licensing, and the process of linking EHE licenses to Exchange Online can be quite challenging, cumbersome, confusing (insert your own negative adjective) to say the least.  Office 365 Message Encryption will be included in E3/E4 SKU’s and can be easily added to other SKU’s right from the Office 365 Admin Console.

If you have customers in finance, insurance, healthcare, law or any other industry concerned about message security, then you know that external email encryption interest and adoption is on the rise!  Office 365 Message Encryption will allow us to quickly address our customer’s needs without the painful provisioning process.

Office 365 Message Encryption is coming in the first quarter of 2014!
