A Tale of Two (Well Three) Databases

Matt Stroshane did a little historical investigation around here to discover the origins of the ubiquitous Microsoft sample databases (AdventureWorks, Northwind, and Pubs). The resulting narrative, which features the Northwind sample OData service, is his new blog post The Story of Pubs, Northwind, and AdventureWorks. This was a particularly fun read for me as I helped (a little) with the design of the original AdventureWorks database (mostly in the Sales schema) back when I worked on SQL Server replication.
