System Requirements for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 Web Applications

This page lists the system requirements for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 Web Applications.

Overview

This document contains the Web server recommendations and client workstation requirements for Business Portal for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013, Workflow, Web Services and SQL Reporting Services supported by the Microsoft Dynamics GP Technical Support Team.

Dedicated Web Server Recommendations

Review each Customer Profile below to determine what profile best fits the user count and modules used for your environment. Use that Customer Profile as a recommendation for your web server hardware implementation.

The SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports that rely on SQL Views as a data source are only supported with English installs of Microsoft Dynamics GP. However, Customers have the option of translating the reports themselves or creating new reports.

The table below is an overview of the recommended number of servers for each Customer Profile and also recommends what web applications should be installed on each server.

Web Application Customer Profile 1 Customer Profile 2 Customer Profile 3
Business Portal Server 1 Server 1 Server 1
Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010, Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 Internet Sites, Enterprise, Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 Intranet Scenarios, Enterprise Client Access Licenses Server 1 Server 1 Server 1
Workflow NA Server 1 Server 1
Web Services Server 1 Server 2 Server 2
Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Server 1 Server 2 Server 3

Perimeter Network Requirements

If you're deploying Business Portal in an extranet environment, you must set up a perimeter network. Business Portal has been tested and documented using Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server (ISA Server) to create a perimeter network. If your company's perimeter network doesn’t use ISA Server, we recommend that you use hardware and software with similar functionality. In addition, you should set up the same communication rules and policies as recommended for ISA Server.

For more information about ISA Server, including a hardening guide, refer to the ISA Server home page on Microsoft’s Web site.

For information about recommended communication rules and policies to run Business Portal in an extranet environment, refer to the Business Portal Installation Guide.
