Troubleshoot device data support in care management (preview)

Important

  • This is a preview feature.
  • Preview features aren't meant for production use and may have restricted functionality. These features are available before an official release so that customers can get early access and provide feedback.

This article lists the limitations associated with device data support in care management (preview). It also shows you how to troubleshoot some of the problems you may encounter with the capability.

Power BI report limitations

  1. Users need to sign in to view the reports whenever they open a new browser window.

  2. Some browsers require you to refresh the page after signing in, especially when using the InPrivate or Incognito mode.

Troubleshoot Power BI reports

This section shows you how to troubleshoot some of the problems associated with the embedded Power BI reports.

Missing permissions

After selecting Go to setup from Microsoft Cloud Solution Center, you may see the following message on the screen - "Contact your admin about permissions for installing this app".

To resolve this issue, ensure that you've followed the necessary prerequisite step for enabling the installation of template apps not listed on AppSource. For more information, go to Prerequisites for configuring patient observation chart using Power BI.

Granting access to reports

The Power BI Embed option doesn't automatically give permissions to view reports. You must set the permissions within the Power BI service.

To provide access to a report within the Power BI service, you can share the report with users who require access to the embedded report. If you're using a Microsoft 365 Group, you can list the users as members of the app workspace within the Power BI service. For more information, go to Manage an app workspace.

Issues with data refresh or app updates

Ensure that the configuration is correct using the following steps and then refresh the dataset:

  1. Go to the workspace panel and open the app workspace.

  2. Open the Parameters section in the dataset settings and make sure the FHIR server URL information is correct.

  3. If needed, open the data source credentials section, and select Edit credentials settings to reconfigure the data source.

  4. After the above steps are validated, go back to the app workspace and select Refresh.

  5. After the dataset has refreshed successfully, select the Update App option at the top-right corner of the app workspace.

Data doesn't appear on the Dataverse embedded report

Ensure that the data has synced with the FHIR server, because the report is filtered based on the Azure FHIR ID attribute of the current row.
