You can create cases for multiple areas in Microsoft Dynamics AX. For example, you can create cases for issues that relate to human resources or to customer service. Cases and case information should only be accessible to the appropriate employees in an organization. To control which employees have access to view, create, and update different types of cases, you can assign security roles to case category types.

  1. Click Organization administration > Setup > Cases > Case category type security.

  2. In the Case category filter, select the case category type to which to assign or remove access for a security role.

  3. To assign access to the case category type, in the Available roles list, select a security role, and then click Add >>. The security role moves to the Selected roles list.

  4. To remove access to the case category type, in the Selected roles list, select the security role to remove, and then click << Remove.
