Microsoft Certification Exam – Candidate Agreement

BY TAKING A MICROSOFT CERTIFICATION EXAM (EXAMS), YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE AGREED TO BE BOUND BY THESE RULES AND REQUIREMENTS. IF YOU ARE TAKING THIS EXAM AS PART OF AN ACADEMIC INSTITUTION, THEN BY TAKING THIS EXAM, YOU ADDITIONALLY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU ARE EITHER A STUDENT OR FACULTY MEMBER OF AN ACCREDITED ACADEMIC INSTITUTION.

  1. Confidentiality

    You will not and will not allow any other person or entity to distribute, copy, display, publish, summarize, photograph, record, download, transmit or post any exam or any exam tasks, questions, answers, computations, diagrams, drawings, worksheets or other content or exam-related information. Except as expressly set forth in the Microsoft Credentials Program Agreement, you may not:

    • Use, disclose or reproduce any Microsoft Credential in any manner whatsoever; or
    • Disclose Microsoft’s confidential information (including without limitation exam tasks, questions, answers, computations, diagrams, drawings, worksheets and other content and exam-related information) to any third parties.
  2. Misconduct

    You will not participate in any behavior that could compromise the confidentiality or results of any exam. You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable exam policies, procedures, and rules. Exam proctors (if any) are authorized by Microsoft to, and may, take immediate and appropriate measures against you if you violate any exam policies, procedures, or rules. Without prejudice to any other remedies, Microsoft may, in its sole discretion, prohibit you from taking any exam and/or invalidate your exam results (in each case, without obligation to refund any exam-related fees) if Microsoft believes you violated the Microsoft Credentials Program Agreement (including the Credential-Specific Requirements) or engaged in any misconduct, including without limitation the following:

    • Providing access to, disclosing, distributing, copying, photographing, recording, downloading, posting, displaying, publishing or transmitting, in any form or by any means, any exam or any tasks, questions, answers, computations, diagrams, drawings, worksheets or other content or exam-related information;
    • Misrepresenting your identity or impersonating another individual;
    • Misrepresenting your country of residence or the country where an online proctored exam will be delivered;
    • Modifying or altering any exam, exam score or exam record;
    • Submitting any work or answers that are not entirely your own;
    • Using Artificial Intelligence or related products or services in any way to assist you;
    • Providing or receiving improper assistance during an exam;
    • Seeking or obtaining unauthorized access to any exam or any of the following elements of an exam: tasks, questions, answers, computations, diagrams, drawings, worksheets or other content or exam-related information (this includes using braindump material or unauthorized publication of exam questions with or without answers);
    • Possessing non-authorized items while taking an exam, including without limitation mobile phones, electronic devices, laptops, watches, notes, documentation, or content;
    • Misconduct as determined by statistical analysis;
    • Attempting to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any exam;
    • Engaging in any other misconduct that could compromise the confidentiality, integrity, or security of the exam; and
    • Violating any Microsoft or exam delivery provider’s policy, requirement, or rule.
  3. Important Privacy Notice and Consent

    By taking this exam, you agree that Microsoft, its affiliates, and the exam provider may:

    • disclose your personal information and exam data with each other to administer the exam, to improve the testing program and testing experience, to facilitate statistical analyses, and to determine if you passed the exam;
    • contact you regarding certificates showing that you passed the exam or information regarding the Microsoft Credential program;
    • disclose your personal information and exam results with other Microsoft programs, e.g., the Microsoft Partner Network program, to verify your or your employer’s compliance with the program requirements;
    • disclose your information with standards and certification boards affiliated with the academic institution, company or government organization that provided you with an exam voucher;
    • disclose your exam results and your personal information with the entity that issued the voucher or that purchased the site license if the exam was made available to you by one of the following methods:
      • A company or government organization purchased vouchers and then issued the vouchers to its employees or contractors,
      • An academic institution purchased vouchers and then issued the vouchers to its students or employees,
      • An academic institution or government organization operated an exam test center and did not charge you a standalone fee to take the exam, or
      • A government agency that provides training stipends to be applied based on completion conditions and subject to Microsoft’s identified verification process.
    • disclose your exam results and your personal information with an entity that funded your exam if the funding was made available through a government agency that provides training stipends to be applied based on completion conditions and subject to Microsoft’s identified verification process.

  4. Academic Exams

    If you registered to take an academic exam, you must provide the exam provider with documentation that verifies you are currently enrolled as a student at or a faculty member of an accredited academic institution before you can take the exam. Prior to starting an academic exam, you will be required to acknowledge that you are either a student or faculty member of an accredited academic institution.

  5. Score Challenge Policy

    If you believe your exam score is inaccurate, you have fifteen (15) days after taking the applicable exam to challenge that score. To challenge an exam score within this time period, you can contact Microsoft at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/credentials/support/help.

  6. Tenants

    If you are being provided with a defined cloud environment (“Tenant”) as a part of an exam lab delivery, the Tenant is made available solely for the purpose of assessing skills that are part of the exam. You will not share or use Tenants for purposes outside of the exam. The Tenant used in the exam is a trial tenant and cannot be used or accessed after the exam is over and is not eligible for extension. Tenants must not be converted to a paid subscription. Tenants obtained as a part of this exam remain the property of Microsoft, and Microsoft reserves the right to obtain access and repossess at any time.
