3.2.4.6 Handling Endpoint Consolidation

During the first connection to the server, the client does not know whether the server supports port consolidation. If the client receives the AUX_ENDPOINT_CAPABILITIES auxiliary block structure, as specified in section 2.2.2.2.20, in the server's response to the EcDoConnectEx method, as specified in section 3.1.4.1, initiated by the client, then the client SHOULD<34> save the information so that on subsequent connections to that server the client can consolidate the RFRI, NSPI, and EMSMDB interfaces to a single port, such as port 6001. There is no requirement that the client consolidate the interfaces because this behavior is completely optional.

There is a one-reconnection lag until the client connects in the most optimal way.
