1 Introduction

This document describes the level of support provided by Microsoft web browsers for the Cascading Style Sheets Level 2 Revision 1 (CSS 2.1) specification [CSS-Level2-2009], published 08 September 2009. CSS 2.1 is a style sheet language that allows authors and users to attach style (e.g., fonts and spacing) to structured documents (e.g., HTML documents and XML applications). By separating the presentation style of documents from the content of documents, CSS 2.1 simplifies Web authoring and site maintenance. CSS is the default style sheet language in Microsoft browsers.

Appendix B of this document describes the level of support provided for features in Cascading Style Sheets Level 1 specification [CSS-Level1-2008], published 17 December 1996 and revised 11 April 2008. Only requirements that directly conflict with CSS 2.1 features are included.
