2.1.2 Parameters Passed to the Transport Layer

To establish a session, as specified in [MS-CMPO], the following values MUST be provided to the lower-layer protocol:

  • A Security Level value that indicates the needed RPC authentication level. The possible values for this element are specified in [MS-RPCE].

  • A name object that indicates the host name, the contact identifier, and the supported RPC network protocols of the remote endpoint against which the session is established. Name objects are specified in [MS-CMPO] section 3.2.1.4.

  • The minimum and maximum values of the protocol version number, which specify the minimum and maximum protocol versions that are supported by the implementation. For more information, see section 3.1.3.
