3.1.1.7.2 Session with Express Messages Sent

The following sequence diagram demonstrates the sending of express messages between two queue managers after a session has been established.

The sender sends three express UserMessage Packets ([MS-MQMQ] section 2.2.20) to the receiver. The receiver acknowledges receipt of the UserMessage Packets by sending a SessionAck Packet (section 2.2.6) after a delay to allow batching of the session acknowledgments.

After an inactivity time-out, the session is closed by either side by performing the steps listed in section 3.1.5.9. The protocol does not exchange packets as part of session closure.
