4 Protocol Examples

This section contains examples that utilize the DHCPv4 and DHCPv6 transports, as described below. The message exchanges for the DHCPv4 example are described in [RFC2131] section 3 and 4.1. The message exchanges for the DHCPv6 example are described in [RFC3315] sections 13, 15, 18.1.5, 18.1.8, 18.2.5, and 18.2.8. The message sequences and the operation of the DHCPv4 and DHCPv6 transports are unchanged by the NKPU Protocol in these examples.

The following examples are described in this section for the NKPU Protocol:

  • Client requesting an unlock over DHCPv4.

  • Client requesting an unlock over DHCPv6.
