1.7 Versioning and Capability Negotiation

The PCCR Discovery Protocol is based on the [WS-Discovery] standard and does not define any new mechanisms for the following areas:

  • Supported transports

  • Protocol versions

  • Security and authentication methods

  • Localization

  • Capability negotiation

This specification defines version 2.0 of the PCCR Discovery Protocol, which preserves the messages from version 1.0 and allows for efficient discovery of multiple segments. Capability negotiation is achieved using standard fields of the Web Services Dynamic Discovery (WS-Discovery) protocol.
