An NBNS server joins the multicast group address 224.0.1.24 at service startup. It accepts multicast messages at the configured UDP port, as specified in section 2.1.

An NBNS server supporting replication can be configured as a listener and MUST be a sender of AutoDiscovery packets. An NBNS server configured to support AutoDiscovery MUST be a listener.
