Business value

Power Apps component framework enables professional developers to build code components that can be used across model-driven and canvas apps. Code components are reusable, metadata-driven, and solution-aware, so they can be easily packaged and moved across organizations to support multiple form factors. Once imported, any canvas app maker can simply add these components to their app, enabling custom functionality that's not available out of the box.

Feature details

This feature is currently in general availability for model-driven and canvas apps. We already have multiple first-party code components built using the framework for canvas apps alongside the ones from preview customers. We've added support for default properties panel and dataset APIs, and have also addressed top preview issues for the general availability release of canvas apps.
