Enhancements to the datasets hub allow users to easily discover and reuse data in one central location. The datasets hub experience empowers users to curate, publish, discover, and reuse organizational datasets, and to answer their business questions either in Power BI or Excel. For data owners, the hub also enables efficient and centralized management of data assets.

In the growing world of BI, making it possible to easily discover valuable, trustworthy data in one central location becomes crucial for deriving business insights and making the right business decisions. To address this, we recently introduced the new datasets hub, which can be accessed in both the Power BI service and Power BI Teams personal app.
The new datasets hub enables users to:
- Discover curated, non-curated, and recommended datasets that have been shared with them
- Explore relevant dataset properties (description, sensitivity, refresh time, and more)
- Discover related reports
- Explore usage information for the selected dataset
- Create a report based on a selected dataset or start from a template report
- Analyze a dataset in Excel
- View lineage and impact for the selected dataset
Moving forward, we're committed to making the datasets hub the central location for data discovery, exploration, and reuse for deriving insights. To accomplish this, we're expanding the capabilities of the datasets hub. This includes the ability to:
- Discover curated datasets that were marked by their owners as discoverable, and to request access to view the data, build reports, and analyze it in Excel
- View dataset schema
- View dataset refresh history and trigger a new refresh
- Share a dataset with a link or a chat in Teams to provide easy access and collaboration
