Remove-DnsServerDirectoryPartition

Removes a DNS application directory partition.

Description

The Remove-DnsServerDirectoryPartition cmdlet removes a Domain Name System (DNS). You cannot remove a DNS server from the DomainDnsZones or ForestDnsZones application directory partitions.

Example 1: Remove a directory partition from the local DNS server

PS C:\> Remove-DnsServerDirectoryPartition -Name "ADpart" -PassThru -Force

This command removes the DNS server from a DNS application directory partition named ADpart. This command removes the directory partition without prompting you for confirmation and returns information about the DNS application directory partition that the command removed.
