Architectural Sample Applications

 

This body of Microsoft® .NET applications includes those developed both those developed by Microsoft and those developed by partner organizations. Most are available for download with full source code and technical documentation. While these applications are not intended as prescriptive guidance for production applications (see Microsoft patterns & practices for this) they do demonstrate the diversity of design approaches possible on the .NET platform; a comparative examination of these designs in light of the tradeoffs between maintainability, manageability, performance, scalability, and security can be a source of insight that can help determine the best approach for a given context.
