Provisioning OTA Through an OMA DM Server

Send Feedback

Windows Mobile-based devices can be provisioned over-the-air using an OMA Device Management server. For an overview of OMA DM implementation on Windows Mobile 5.0 see OMA Device Management.

Before devices can be provisioned through your DM server they must be bootstrapped to communicate with and accept management commands from it. For more information, see Bootstrapping To Use An OMA DM Server.

Note OTA bootstrapping is disabled by default in Windows Mobile-based devices. Before you can bootstrap or continuously provision the device OTA you must enable OTA bootstrapping. For more information see Enabling OTA Bootstrapping.

A brief review of OMA DM file structure and commands supported in Windows Mobile 5.0 can be found in OMA Device Management Provisioning.
