Application Designer – Code Synchronization

Application diagrams created in the Application Designer in Team Edition for Software Architects allow users to visualize and design service oriented applications. Application diagrams are synchronized with code so that the diagram does not become out of date if changes are made during the development process. This helps teams maintain up to date documentation.

An application diagram does not become synchronized with code until it is implemented. Once the diagram is implemented, then the code becomes the master for that diagram. If changes are made during coding that impact the diagram, then the diagram is synchronized with those changes when the diagram is next opened. If the diagram is already open, changes are synchronized right away.

To view code synchronization, make structural changes to an application in code while the application diagram is open.
