Application Designer

Team Edition for Software Architects includes the new Application Designer. The Application Designer is a visual design surface that helps software architects design, configure, implement, and deploy service-oriented applications. The Application Designer helps development teams to create and maintain application diagrams that are integrated with Visual Studio tools and remain in synchronization with code throughout the development effort.

The Deployment Designer is one of four distributed designers in Team Edition for Software Architects. Using these designers, users can create diagrams for systems, applications, deployments, and datacenters that remain synchronized with the development process.

Once an Application Designer has been created, it can be validated for deployment using the Deployment Designer. The design can be committed to code, creating skeletal code files for the application. Synchronization features help keep diagrams in line with code during development.

Application diagrams are created from the Solution Explorer in Visual Studio 2005.
