Easier Window Docking

Your development environment in Visual Studio is very customizable, with all kinds of windows that can be docked in whatever way best suits your style and fits the task at hand. Sometimes getting multiple windows docked and arranged just the way you want them can be a tricky business, but it just got easier. A new IDE feature in Visual Studio 2005 now provides you with a set of transparent guides to hover your window over for easier and more accurate docking. When you begin to reposition a window (such as the Toolbox in the accompanying screen shot) by clicking and dragging it, the guides appear. Positioning the Toolbox over a specific guide causes the guide to highlight and a blue shaded region to appear, denoting the destination of the Toolbox if you release the mouse button there.

Use the new docking guides to land your window just where you want it every time
