LabelingWith labeling, you can attach a marker to a group of unrelated file and folder versions so that they can be retrieved in a workspace. For example, a label can be used to identify a software milestone such as "Beta 1" or "Release Candidate 1." A label is version specific and is not tracked in the file or folder history. This means that subsequent versions of a file will not inherit the label associated with a previous version. Labels are immediately applied and do not require a check in action. Labels can be applied in the Source Control Explorer or from the Visual Studio 2005 command prompt.
