Load Testing – Windows Performance Counters

Load tests in Visual Studio Team Edition for Testers provide development teams with a way to see how an application acts under various sorts of user load. In order to help testers gather more comprehensive performance data, Team Edition for Testers can monitor Windows performance counters on the server where the test is being run.

In order to make them easier to manage, performance counters are collected into counter sets for the purposes of load testing. These sets correspond to particular technologies or aspects of server performance, such as Internet Information Services (IIS) or .NET. Custom counter sets can also be created if needed.

Windows performance counters are added to a new load test during the load test wizard.
