Local IIS Support without FrontPage Server Extensions

Visual Studio 2005 includes many server options for developing Web sites, including a built-in Development Server for the local file system, a remote server using FTP, or a local SharePoint or IIS server.

Projects that use an IIS server no longer require Frontpage Server Extensions for locally developed IIS web applications. You can view all of the Web sites and applications configured on your machine when you create a new IIS project. And you can create new IIS Web applications or virtual directories directly from the New Web Site dialog box.
