The Logical Datacenter Designers is a visual designer that visualizes the logical structure of an organization's datacenter. This gives development teams access to the structure of the target deployment environment for the software they are developing. The Deployment Designer is one of four distributed designers in Team Edition for Software Architects. Using these designers, users can create diagrams for systems, applications, deployments, and datacenters that remain synchronized with the development process. A datacenter diagram created in the designer shows the logical servers, zones, boundaries, and lines of communication in the datacenter. Settings for each component, including authentication and security are also included in the diagram. This information can be used to validate an application for deployment in the environment and help detect possible deployment issues.
