ClearQuest Converter Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server allows work items from the IBM Rational ClearQuest product to be migrated into the Team Foundation Server environment using the CQConverter.exe command-line utility. This capability makes it easier for development teams to migrate to Visual Studio 2005, or for integration of projects created using ClearQuest. The ClearQuest migration process involves mapping entities in the ClearQuest database to entities in Team Foundation Server. The ClearQuest converter facilitates this process by analyzing the ClearQuest database. This analysis provides a default mapping between users and work items in the two products and enumerates custom work item types present in ClearQuest. The results of the analysis can be further modified if required. This information is then stored in XML files where it can be analyzed and configured during the migration process.
