This function performs an Inquiry operation.

Syntax

int BthPerformInquiry(
  unsigned int LAP,
  unsigned char length,
  unsigned char num_responses,
  unsigned int cElems,
  unsigned int* pcDiscoveredDevices,
  BthInquiryResult* InquiryList
);

Parameters

  • LAP
    [in] The GIAC LAP code. For general inquiry, use 0x9e8b33. For more information about LAP codes, see the Bluetooth Core Specification.
  • length
    [in] The inquiry length, in 1.28 sec intervals.
  • num_responses
    [in] The maximum number of responses to consider before the inquiry completes. To consider unlimited responses, use zero (0).
  • cElems
    [in] The number of elements in the InquiryList array.
  • pcDiscoveredDevices
    [out] The number of devices returned during inquiry process. If pcDiscoveredDevices is greater than cBuffer, then only the cBuffer results are returned in InquiryList.
  • InquiryList
    [in] Pointer to the output buffer.

Return Value

This function returns ERROR_SUCCESS when it completes successfully.

A return value of ERROR_SERVICE_NOT_ACTIVE indicates that the hardware is not inserted or that the Bluetooth stack is not present.

Other standard error codes may be returned as appropriate.
