Configure WCF and WF for Server: General Tab

Use the General tab in the Configure WCF and WF for Server dialog box to select a tab that displays one of the types of configuration settings that are available at the server scope. In the right-hand pane, the General tab displays the name of the server that you have selected in the Connections pane of the IIS Manager.

Field

Description

General

This tab is displayed by default when the Configure WCF and WF for Server dialog box is first displayed. Use this tab to view the server that you have selected.

Monitoring

Select this tab to configure default monitoring settings at the server scope. For more information, refer to Configure WCF and WF for Server, Site, or Application: Monitoring Tab.

Workflow Persistence

Select this tab to configure default workflow persistence settings at the server scope. For more information, refer to Configure WCF and WF for Server, Site, Application, or Virtual Directory: Workflow Persistence Tab.

Workflow Host Management

Select this tab to enable instance control, unload instances, or persist instances at the server scope. For more information, refer to Configure WCF and WF for Server, Site, Application, or Virtual Directory: Workflow Host Management Tab.

Throttling

Select this tab to configure default service throttling settings at the server scope. For more information, refer to Configure WCF and WF for Server, Site, Application, or Virtual Directory: Throttling Tab.

Security

Select this tab to configure default service certificate settings at the server scope. For more information, refer to Configure WCF and WF for Server, Site, Application, or Virtual Directory: Security Tab.

Description

Server name

This field displays the name of the server that you have selected. You cannot change the server name, just view it.

Enable metadata over HTTP

Click this button to enable an HTTP Get operation for metadata over the HTTP protocol. For a service that inherits this functionality from its application, this ensures that when you browse to the service file with Internet Explorer, you will see the metadata for the service, and see which operations are available.
