Deploying and Configuring Windows Server AppFabric Caching Features

When you create a new Windows Server AppFabric cache cluster, there are several options and considerations. For example, you might first use the AppFabric installation wizard and then configure caching with the configuration wizard. Both of these wizards provide user-interfaces that guide you through the appropriate steps. However, you might want to install and configure AppFabric caching using a Windows Powershell script. This section discusses automated installation and configuration of AppFabric caching in addition to other deployment scenarios.

Note

This section assumes that you have reviewed the documentation that covers AppFabric installation and configuration. That documentation explains how to use the wizards in addition to other important guidance. For more information, see Installing and Configuring Windows Server AppFabric. For more information about capacity planning, see Windows Server AppFabric Caching Capacity Planning Guide.

Important

When setting up a cache cluster, use dedicated servers for cache hosts. For more information, see the discussion about cache hosts in the Windows Server AppFabric Caching Physical Architecture Diagram.
