The EM_SETEXTENDEDSTYLE message sets extended styles.

Syntax

EM_SETEXTENDEDSTYLE 
    wParam = (WPARAM)dwMask;
    lParam = (LPARAM)dwExStyle;

Parameters

  • dwMask
    DWORD value that specifies which styles in dwExStyle are set. This parameter can be a combination of extended styles. All other styles will be maintained as they are. If the DWORD value is zero, all of the styles in dwExStyle are set.
  • dwExStyle
    DWORD value that specifies the extended edit control style. This parameter can be a combination of extended styles.

Return Value

Returns a DWORD that represents the extended styles currently in use for the edit control. This value can be a combination of extended styles.
