Stabilizing
During the Stabilizing Phase, the developers focus on resolving any bugs found in the CI files during the pilot and on preparing the final files to be used in the deployment. Configuration items are being tested and corrected whenever necessary. To better understand how to use configuration item files, see “Appendix C: Commend-Line Syntax” in the Desired Configuration Monitoring Planning and Installation Guide.
Figure 5 illustrates the activities completed during the Stabilizing Phase.

Testing the Solution
The Desired Configuration Monitoring feature team can test the DCM solution in conjunction with tests related to the Deployment feature team.
Conducting a Pilot
The Desired Configuration Monitoring feature team should execute DCM pilots in conjunction with the pilots for the Deployment feature team.
Resolving Known Issues
For a list of known issues related to DCM, see “Resolving Known Issues” in the Desired Configuration Monitoring Planning and Installation Guide and “Unresolved Issues and Resolutions” in the Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) Desired Configuration Monitoring (DCM) 2.0 Release Notes.
Repairing the Solution
If the DCM solution components generate any application errors, repair the component by uninstalling and re-installing it. To uninstall a DCM component, use the Add or Remove Programs Control Panel item.
Milestone: Configuration Item Files Ready
Milestones are synchronization points for the overall solution. For more information, see the Plan, Build, and Deploy Guide.
At this milestone, shown in Table 14, the CIs that the Desired Configuration Monitoring feature team has created are now considered the final, or golden, CI files.
