Content Selection Framework Architecture

For the latest version of Commerce Server 2007 Help, see the Microsoft Web site.

The Content Selection Framework (CSF) is a pipeline-based system that determines what content to deliver for advertising and discount campaigns. CSF allows multiple pieces of content to be retrieved as a recordset with only one call, resulting in significant time saving.

The CSF architecture supports an open scoring system that lets site developers change the algorithm they use to determine which piece of content to deliver. In addition, you can use debugging code to monitor events that occur during the scoring process.

The following figure shows the components of the Content Selection Framework.
