Setting Registry Read and Write Permissions for the BizTalk Adapters

For the latest version of Commerce Server 2007 Help, see the Microsoft Web site.

Commerce Server provides four BizTalk adapters, also known informally as the Commerce Server adapters. These adapters store state information in the system registry. This means that the user account under which the Commerce Server adapters run requires both read and write access to the appropriate registry location. By default, the Commerce Server adapters run under the same account as the BizTalk Server host instance.

Depending on your combination of software and hardware, the exact registry location to which you must grant read and write access permissions varies, as shown in the following table.

Software/hardware combination

Registry location requiring read and write access for the BizTalk Server host instance account

All 32-bit systems

32-bit BizTalk Server host instance on a 64-bit system

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Commerce Server 2007 BizTalk Adapters

64-bit BizTalk Server host instance on a 64-bit system

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Commerce Server 2007 BizTalk Adapters

You must manually create this registry location before setting the appropriate read and write permissions.

Make sure that you set the appropriate registry access permissions on every computer that is executing a BizTalk Server host instance.
