Changing the Administration Database SQL Server Login and Password
If you change the name of your computer, you must change the necessary connection string settings in Commerce Server Manager so that they use the new computer name. The settings you change depend on the topology used to deploy Commerce Server. You must manually edit the fields in your Administration database to the new name.
You must also delete your current SQL Server registration and then register a new instance of SQL Server. You need to change your SQL Server login and password for the Administration database. You do this by deleting your current SQL Server registration and then registering a new instance of SQL Server. Use the following procedure to register a new SQL Server instance.
To change the SQL Server login and password for the Administration database
In the Microsoft Commerce Server Manager console, right-click Commerce Server Manager, and then click Properties.
In the Commerce Server Manager Properties dialog box, on the Administration Database tab, click Modify.
The Data Link Properties dialog box appears.
After making the necessary changes in the Data Link Properties dialog box, click OK.
