Step 5: Install Server Software on Computer 2

  1. Install SQL Server 2000 and Analysis Services as specified at https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=6125.

  2. Install SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 2 (SP2) as specified at https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=6730.

  3. Install Commerce Server as specified at https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=6125.

    Note the following:

    • In the Setup Type screen, select Complete.

    • In the Administration Database Configuration screen, select the current computer as the SQL Server computer and select the appropriate authentication mode (Windows Integrated Security or SQL Authentication).

    • Windows Integrated Security is the recommended configuration for a Commerce Server installation. For more information about Windows Authentication, see Using Windows Authentication.

    • In the Direct Mailer Configuration screen, select the current computer as the SQL Server computer.

    • In the Services Accounts screen, check the Use the same account for each service and set all to auto start check box. Enter a Username, Password, and Domain for an account under which the Commerce Server services will run.

    • You should always use a strong password. For more information about strong passwords, see Using Strong Passwords.
  4. Restart the server after installation.

Once the server restarts, you have properly installed the server software on Computer 2. Continue to Step 6: Unpack the Supplier Solution Site on Computer 2.
