Changing the Layout of Existing Solution Site Pages

The easiest way to change the high-level page layout for existing pages is to modify one of the two files template\layout1.asp or template\no_menu.asp, as appropriate for the set of pages you want to change. You must continue to use the existing include files and content variables to populate the existing areas of the page, but you can alter the relative positions of those areas, remove one or more existing areas, or add new areas of your own design.

The HTML code used within the layout pages consists of HTML markup directives, a discussion of the details of which is beyond the scope of this document.

If you add new areas to the page, you will need to choose the type of the content source to associate with those new areas. You must decide between using a new include file or a new content variable to supply the content. For more information, see Creating New Content Sources for your Solution Site.
