Users cannot search the Web site catalog

Members of ctlg_CatalogReaderRole group must have db_owner permissions on the MSCS_CatalogScratch database. The MSCS_CatalogScratch database is a temporary database with no persistent data, and does not present a security issue. If users visiting your site do not have access to the MSCS_CatalogScratch database, they will not be able to search your product catalog.

Solution

Run the CatalogSecurityRoles.sql script and grant users the appropriate access.
