Cannot Access the Solution Storefront

If after deploying the Solution Storefront, and specifying the Solution Storefront channel and catalog names, you see an error in the browser when you access the Solution Storefront, try the following tips.

  1. In a non-production environment, do the following:

    • Open the application's Web.config file in a text editor and set the following values:

    • Set the CallStack setting to true

    • Set the CustomErrors mode to off

    • Save your changes.

    • Access the Solution Storefront again to see a more detailed and specific error message.

  2. Verify that the identity associated with the application pool that is assigned to the Solution Storefront in SharePoint has the correct permissions. The application pool must have the correct permissions to access the Solution Storefront's databases. To see or change the identity of the application pool, do the following:

    • Open Internet Information Manager.

    • In the navigation tree view on the left, click Application Pools.

    • Right-click the application pool for the Web application associated with the Solution Storefront, and then click Advanced Settings. Scroll down to the Identity field. Verify that the identity in use has the correct permissions.

If you have errors accessing the Solution Storefront site after Commerce Server 2009 R2 configuration due to missing updates to the site's Web.config file or ChannelConfiguration.config file, or if there are Commerce Server 2009 R2 related files missing from the site's virtual directory (for example, ChannelConfiguration.config or metadataDefinitions.xml), do the following:

  1. Reset the SharePoint Timer service (from the Service Control Manager).

  2. In SharePoint Central Administration, deactivate and reactivate the Commerce Server 2009 R2 features for the SharePoint Web application where the Solution Storefront is installed.
