"Quadrant" Status Bar

[This content is no longer valid. For the latest information on "M", "Quadrant", SQL Server Modeling Services, and the Repository, see the Model Citizen blog.]

This topic describes the Microsoft code name “Quadrant” status bar that is located at the bottom of the screen.

Zoom Level

On the far right of the status bar, you can see the current zoom level of the workspace.

Change List

To the left of the zoom level, you can see the change list indicator displayed as Changes (n), where n is the number of changes for this database session. The change list indicator is displayed only when there are pending changes. Double-clicking the indicator launches the change list in a workpad. For more information about using the change list, see Committing Changes and Resolving Conflicts.

Error List

To the left of the change list indicator, you can see the error list indicator displayed as Errors (n), where n is the number of errors for this database session. The error list indicator is displayed only when there are errors waiting to be resolved. Double-clicking the indicator launches the error list in a workpad. For more information about using the error list, see Error Handling in "Quadrant".

Database Sessions

To the left of the error list indicator, you can see the name of the database session that is associated with the active workpad in the workspace. If no workpad is opened on the workspace, or when there are workpads but none of them are selected, the session name is still displayed in the status bar. In this case, it is the session that will be associated with a new workpad that is opened by clicking File, New and Workpad.

For more information about how you can manage open sessions and reconnect to a session, see How to: Connect to a SQL Server Database with "Quadrant".
