Select an area on the map

    Do one of the following:

On the Navigation toolbar, click Select and select an area on the map surrounding the individual Pushpins you want as stops on your route.

Use the Freeform , Rectangle , Oval , or Radius tools to draw around the Pushpins you want as stops on your route, and then select the shape by clicking its border.

Create a drivetime zone of a desired length of time, and then select the zone by clicking its border.

    How?

  2. On the Route menu, click Add Pushpins as Stops.

  3. On the Route menu, click Get Directions to establish your route on the map and calculate driving directions.

Note  If you already have a route on the map, the Pushpins are added as new intermediate stops on your route and do not replace the existing start or end points. If you want to make one of the new stops the start or end point of your route, change the order of the stops in the Route Planner.

Tip  You can have MapPoint reorder the stops so that the travel time between the start and end points on your route is the most time–efficient. Set a start and end point in the Route Planner, and then click Optimize Stops.
