Navigation options
The Navigation tab of the Options dialog box on the Tools menu contains options for the display of information in the Navigation pane.
Show GPS sensor when GPS pane is closed
On the Navigation tab, under Navigation screen, select the Show GPS Sensor when GPS pane is closed check box.
Note This check box is selected when MapPoint starts the first time.
Show full screen navigation
On the Navigation tab, under Navigation screen, select the Show full screen when navigating check box.
Notes
This check box is cleared when MapPoint starts the first time.
You can still get navigation when the full navigation screen is not displayed.
Automatically hide the toolbar when using full screen navigation
On the Navigation tab, under Navigation screen, select the Autohide toolbar when using full screen navigation check box.
Notes
This check box is selected when MapPoint starts the first time.
With the Autohide feature selected, the toolbar appears when you move the mouse or press a touch-screen display. The toolbar rolls back up after a few seconds.
Speak street names while navigating
Under Navigation screen, select the Speak street names while navigating check box.
Notes
This check box is cleared when MapPoint starts the first time.
With spoken street names selected, a voice prompt provides details about directions based on the selected itinerary.
Automatically re-route when off route
Under Navigation screen, select the Automatically re-route when off route check box.
Notes
This check box is cleared when MapPoint starts the first time.
When this check box is selected, each time MapPoint detects that the direction or street is not on the planned route, you will be given instructions on how to get back on the route or how to get to your next waypoint. These instructions are based on your current position, rather than on your previously defined route.
Automatically start GPS when application starts
Under Navigation screen, select the Automatically start GPS when application starts check box.
Notes
This check box is cleared when MapPoint starts the first time.
When this check box is selected, GPS tracking starts automatically each time you open MapPoint.
Temporarily disable Windows screen saver when GPS is running
On the Navigation tab, under Navigation screen, select the Temporarily disable Windows screen saver while GPS is running check box.
Notes
This check box is cleared when MapPoint starts the first time.
When this check box is selected, your Windows screen saver will not open as it usually does after the specified sleep mode time has elapsed.
Pause Windows Media Player during spoken navigation instructions
On the Navigation tab, under Navigation screen, select the Pause Windows Media Player during spoken navigation instructions check box.
Notes
This check box is cleared when MapPoint starts the first time.
When this check box is selected, MapPoint pauses the audio on Windows Media Player whenever navigation instructions are spoken. MapPoint automatically resumes the audio when spoken navigation instructions are complete.
