How to: Create Build Quality States

Team Foundation Build lets you set the build quality for build reports. Additionally, should the need for a new build quality type exist; you can create a one. For more information, see How to: Set Build Quality and Understanding the Team Foundation Build Browser.

Required Permissions

To perform this procedure, you must have the Team Foundation Server Edit build status permission set to Allow. For more information, see Team Foundation Server Permissions.

To create a build quality state

  1. Open the Team Build Browser and view the build summary status. For more information, see How to: View Build Summary Status.

  2. In Team Explorer, under the Build Quality column associated with the build row for which you want to create a quality state, click the drop-down arrow and click <Edit…>, the Edit Build Quality dialog box appears.

  3. In Edit Build Quality, click New to add to the Name list.

  4. At the prompt, enter a name and then click Close.

    The new build quality appears in the drop-down list for Build Quality.
