  • query languages
    One of several means of expressing a search for desired information. Indexing Service supports structured query language (SQL) and two dialects of the Indexing Service query language.
  • query types
    Queries can seek different types of information. A content query searches for text (text-type properties) of documents, and a property query searches for properties (value-type properties) in documents. A property query can be either a relational query or a pattern-matching query.
  • querying
    In Indexing Service, the process of searching for specific data in a set of files and returning links to the files containing that data.
