Sharing Data

Vista provides tools for controlling and regulating data access for local and remote users, including support for Really Simple Subscription (RSS) and programming with the XML Paper Specification (XPS).

Working with RSS

The Vista RSS platform provides a way for developers to create RSS-enabled applications. Vista provides a common RSS data store, which is a single location where applications can access downloaded RSS content. There is default support for RSS in Internet Explorer 7.0 and above. For more information, see What's New in Internet Explorer 7.

Programming with the XML Paper Specification (XPS)

Vista introduces support for the XML Paper Specification (XPS) for defining complex document collections. This allows users to share documents across platforms, without the need for the authoring application. XPS also supports digital signing and digital rights management for documents.
