Using FileWriter

To use the FileWriter sample application to retrieve media status information and write it to a file:

  1. Build FileWriter.dll from the C++ code and the Visual Studio project file included in the Windows Media Center SDK.
  2. Copy FileWriter.dll to a Windows Media Center PC and register it using the regsvr32.exe utility.
  3. Restart the Windows Media Center PC and then start Windows Media Center. FileWriter will run automatically.

The output from FileWriter.dll will be in the ehmsas.txt file in the Temp folder of the Windows Media Center PC.
