Parameters

• pNote
  A value of the IUccPresenceNoteData* (UccPresenceNoteData, for a .NET application) type.

Remarks

The content of a presence note must be a UccLocaleString rather than a simple string. A client obtains an instance of UccLocaleString with a call into CreateContent. The locale string instance String property holds the actual note.

In a Win32 application, the return value of a method or property is always an HRESULT value indicating the status of the call to the interface member. Any result of the operation is returned as a parameter marked with the [out, retval] attribute. In contrast, in a .NET application the HRESULT value indicating an error condition is returned as a COM exception and the [out, retval] parameter becomes the return value. Example

The following example is a public method of an application class that wraps an instance of IUccPresenceNoteInstance (this._Note). The method accepts a local Id, a string, and the type of note to create. A good reference for local Id values is found at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/0h88fahh.aspx.

All public static (Shared in Visual Basic) members of this type are thread-safe. Instance members are not guaranteed to be thread-safe.
