The following table lists the SmartArt animation variables and their associated values.

Variable

Values

Description

animOne

  • none

  • one

  • branch

The animOne variable determines whether one-by-one animation is enabled and the string to use for the animation command.

If the variable is set to one, the command is One by one. The default value is one, which should be used for most diagram types. For example, the Basic Process template uses an animOne value of one.

If the variable is set to branch, the command is By branch one by one. Use this value when you are creating a hierarchical diagram. For example, the Organization Chart template uses an animOne value of branch.

If the variable is set to none, One by one animations are not available for the diagram. However, in general, diagrams support either One by one or By branch one by one animations.

animLvl

  • none

  • lvl

  • ctr

The animLvl variable determines whether By level animation is enabled and the string to use for the animation commands.

If the variable is set to none, By level animations are not available. The default value is none, which should be used when all child text is in the same shape as its parent text. For example, the Basic Process template uses an animLvl value of none.

If the variable is set to lvl, By level animations are available. Use this value when you are creating diagrams in which child text is in a different shape than its parent text. For example, the Accent Process and Organization Chart templates use an animLvl value of lvl.

If the variable is set to ctr, From center animations are available. This behavior is the same as By level behavior except that the starting level is in the center of the diagram. You should use this value for radial diagrams or diagrams that have the parent text in the center surrounded by child text in separate shapes. For example, the Basic Radial template uses an animLvl value of ctr.
